John 3. 1-7 (page 1065)

We thank Joanne Gibson for leading Braunston’s 8.00 a.m. service and we welcome Rev Ann Slater to Ashby’s 9.15 a.m. and Braunston’s 11.00 a.m. services.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

We are indeed truly blessed. Children of God should aspire to be more and more like Jesus and this should be evident to those around us. As Christian witnesses we do not need to be able to craft clever theological arguments that bring doubters to silence. Each of us needs only to be confident to tell the story about how we have encountered the risen Lord, and how that has changed our lives. Then let our attitudes and behaviours, our deeds and actions speak of his love.

Please pray for:

Children in special need of prayer:

Beau and Flynn, Elizabeth, Joey, Megan, Oliver Bennett

For God's special protection upon children who are vulnerable, or whose futures are uncertain; for mums who are pregnant, or with babies, for those older going back to school this week - that God may equip them for every purpose and give them endurance to run the race well.

Please pray for the sick and those in need of comfort:

Beryl Tacey, Blaise, Brenda Hobbs, Brian Branch, David Baker, David Coleman, David Fennell, David Reeve, David Ronnie, Gill Powell, Honor McKichan, Jackie Green, Jim Rumins, Joanne Pawlett, John Gray, Kathleen Lee, Lancy Boniface, Laura Kibblewhite, Leanne Reeve, Linda Hirons, Mark Ridgewell, Monica Brown, Pat Milner, Peter Brown, Peter and Lystra Dickinson, Scott Brown, The Jarrett family

For all who are sick or afraid, for those waiting for, or recovering from treatment & for those who care for them & worry about them.

Please give thanks for the lives of those who have died recently & for all who mourn their passing:

Edna Burrows, Eileen Berry, Joyce Hunt

We thank God for the promise of new life won for us all by the resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ and his triumph over death and the grave

Give thanks for the lives and legacies of those in the year's mind:

Charlie Rawbone, Edith Culleton, Elsie Findull, Eric Brown, Gordon Blundell, Greta Raftery, Joan Lee, John Cooper, Kathleen Brightman, Leslie Pittam, Peter Rushall, Phyllis Shrubb, Richard Humphries, Stanley Hall, William Baker

For all those who mourn and whose grief, old or new, God sees and brings His peace to - may they find comfort in the knowledge of the resurrection of Christ. We give thanks for those whom we have loved, who now know Jesus face to face.

Please pray for our clergy and lay ministers:

For all who are called to try to convey the love of Christ to the world, flawed and imperfect as they always are. For our Bishops Donald and John; for Daventry Deanery clergy & lay ministers; for Team clergy: Michael, Dawn, Mary and Nigel; We give thanks for Rev Nat's appointment to Ashby, Braunston & Welton: may she be enriched by the love, support and understanding of us all, sustained by our ongoing prayers, and filled with the assurance of your Holy Spirit as she waits to start in post.

For those in our community:

For all who so desperately need to know God's grace and who do not realise it; for newcomers to our villages, that they may be welcomed with the love and friendship of Christ in all whom they meet.

For the work of our churches:

That as the Easter holidays fade, the joy has not, and we are still inspired to an ever closer walk with our risen Lord; that so enthused we may share our stories with others, yet with sensitivity, truth and without judgement.
