Gracious Father, you gave up your Son out of love for the world: lead us to ponder the mysteries of his passion, that we may know eternal peace through the shedding of our Saviour’s blood, Jesus Christ our Lord.

2 Corinthians 8.1-15 (page 410)
2 Corinthians 9 6-15 (page 443)
Luke 6.27-38 (page 1034)

We welcome Rev Dawn Stokes to Braunston 8.00 a.m., Rev Doug Spenceley to Ashby 9.15 a.m. and Rev John Stevenson to Braunston 11.00 a.m.

Being a disciple of Christ is not easy. He is demanding. He expects us to serve others rather than ourselves. Generosity is an important sign of faith. If as a person, or as a church, we are growing in faith then there is no need for us to cling so tightly to what feels precious.  We can be generous in the knowledge that all that we have has been given to us. We live as stewards of the gifts God has shared with us. We don’t have to be financially rich to be generous. Generosity is a state of mind rooted in the love of God. If we know ourselves to be loved by God then self-giving love will flow naturally from us, allowing us to be generous with our time, our individual gifts, our money and possessions.

Please pray for:

Children in special need of prayer:

Beau and Flynn, Elizabeth, Joey, Megan, Oliver Bennett

For your protection over them, that by your grace and mercy they may be draw closer to you day by day, growing in faith and the knowledge of your abundant love for them.

Please pray for the sick and those in need of comfort:

Beryl Tacey, Blaise, Brenda Hobbs, Brian Branch, David Baker, David Coleman, David Fennell, David Reeve, David Ronnie, Gill Powell, Honor McKichan, Jackie Green, Jim Rumins, Joanne Pawlett, Lancy Boniface, Leanne Reeve, Linda Hirons, Mark Ridgewell, Monica Brown, Peter Brown, Peter and Lystra Dickinson, Scott Brown, The Jarrett family

For all who are sick or afraid, for those waiting for, or recovering from treatment & for those who care for them & worry about them.

Please give thanks for the lives of those who have died recently & for all who mourn their passing:

Barbara Crisp, Derrick Turner, Eileen Berry, John Ramsbotham, Paul Doman, Peter Parkes, Sidney Berry

We thank God that there is real hope for all of us beyond death and the promise of a new order in earth and heaven, and pray for those who find themselves alone.

Give thanks for the lives and legacies of those in the year's mind:

Alice Morgan, Amy Beckett, Basil Humphrey, Christopher Diprose, Ellen Smyllie, Eric Cole, Gladys Thorp, Malcolm Bryan, Margaret Sykes, Mary Rowley, Reg Dodd, Rob Cooper

For all those who mourn and whose grief, old or new, God sees and brings His peace to. In the power of the spirit we give thanks for those who we have loved who now know Jesus face to face.

Please pray for our clergy and lay ministers:

For all who are called to try to convey the love of Christ to the world, flawed and imperfect as they always are. For our Bishops Donald and John; for our Daventry team clergy: Michael, Dawn, Mary and Nigel; for Rev Nat & Pete as they prepare for the challenges of rural ministry; for all leading or preparing to lead our worship during Lent and Easter.

For those in our community:

For all who so desperately need to know God's grace and who do not realise it. For those whose joy in life is curtailed by illness, conflict or financial worries - that they may know God's compassionate presence with them, and that His love lived out in others may be to them a source of strength, support and hope.

For the work of our churches:

That we may be renewed & transformed in the power & conviction of the gospel and, in the strength of the Spirit, go out & tell all we meet about our Saviour. That during this time of change we keep Christ at our centre, giving of ourselves and our gifts with a generosity which is as limitless as we know his love for us to be, without counting the cost but rejoicing in the privilege of being called to serve as stewards of his kingdom.

Diary Dates:
