WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK:

New Church School at Monksmoor

The diocese has been asked by the County Council to run the new primary school at Monksmoor as a Church School. You are asked to express your support or otherwise for the new school by 24th November by contacting education@peterboroughdiocese.org.uk

The main consultation occurred last spring but confirmation of local supprt would be appreciated. The school will be opening for Reception class admissions in September 2018. We are also seeking Church members in the area to be part of the governing body to get the school up and running. If you are interested please see Sarah.

Almighty Father, whose will is to restore all things in your beloved Son, the King of all: govern the hearts and minds of those in authority, and bring the families of the nations, divided and torn apart by the ravages of sin, to be subject to his just and gentle rule; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

READINGS FOR TODAY:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (page 1188)
James 3:3-18 (page 1214)
Matthew 25:1-13 (page 994)

Today we bring to mind wars and the consequences and causes of wars and we remember with gratitude and sorrow those who have died in conflict on behalf of us all.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

We thank the Royal British Legion for their tireless work at this time of year and hope that younger people with fresh energy may step into the well-polished shoes of our veterans.

Please pray for:

Children in special need of prayer:

Beau and Flynn, Dexter Ive, Elizabeth, Joey, Megan, Oliver Bennett

For all children facing change, perhaps for the first time in their lives. Praise God that Dexter Ive is now home from hospital and pray for his continued improvement and also for Kelly, Tom, Mikey and Jacob.

Please pray for the sick and those in need of comfort:

Beryl Tacey, Blaise, Bob Jarrett, Brenda Hobbs, Brian Branch, David Baker, David Coleman, David Fennell, David Reeve, Gordon Kemp, Honor McKichan, Ian Wren, Janet Caunt, Jim Rumins, Joanne Pawlett, John Ramsbotham, Lancy Boniface, Linda Hirons, Pat Streeton, Peter Andrews, Ron Hickey, Scott Brown, Stuart Cadamy

For all who are sick or afraid & for those who care for them & worry about them. For those facing their own deaths or those of people they love. That all will realise the passionate love of God for them.

Please give thanks for the lives of those who have died recently & for all who mourn their passing:

Sarah (Annie) Isom, Philip Cole

Thank ourGod that the good news of the gospel brings real hope for all of us beyond death & the promise of a new order in earth & heaven.

Give thanks for the lives and legacies of those in the year's mind:

Margaret Ofield, Frank Spray, Michael Cudmore, Don Payne, Lily Hough, Beryl Cullen, George Brown, Ian MacKichan, Susan Robinson, Alan Brierley, Douglas Sharpe, Ronald Smith

For all those who mourn and whose grief, old or new, God sees & brings His peace. In the power of the spirit we give thanks for those who we have loved who now know Jesus face to face.

Please pray for our clergy and lay ministers:

For all who are called to try to convey the love of Christ to the world, flawed and imperfect as they always are. For our Bishops, Donald and John ; for team clergy Michael, Nigel, Dawn, Mary and Sarah. For whoever God calls to replace Rev Sarah in the team

For those in our community:

For all who so desperately need to know God's grace and who do not realise it. For those facing change that they may be confident of God's presence with them. Remembering those who mourn those who gave their lives for the rest of us

For the work of our churches:

That we may be renewed in the power and conviction of the Holy Spirit and ongoing so that we may see a great move towards God through his partner, the church. For congregations facing a time of change that they may know God's presence with them.
