WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK:

Saint or sinner?

Would you describe yourself as a 'holy' person? Would anyone describe you as a 'holy' person?

Starting on the 12th October for 5 weeks John Stevenson will lead a course entitled 'From Sinner to Saint' at 7pm at 5 Roman Way, Ashby Fields, Daventry. Please add your name to the list at the back of the church if you'd like to attend.

Help with flowers needed

The church looks lovely dressed for harvest with its formal flower arrangements but for most of the year simple vases of flowers are what we need. If you could help with flowers, even if posh displays are not your thing, Janet Cox would love to hear from you.

Today at Braunston we think about our attitude to God and our faith when things go badly for us and we celebrate a family harvest festival at Ashby St Ledgers.

Thank you to you all for hearing the news of my move with such grace last week. Today the work begins on parting well and putting the churches into the best possible position for moving on without me. We shall do this together. I am sure that the interregnum will not be long and that you will discover the real strength of the churches in this period. You know what to do. Keep Christ at the centre and love one another. In the meantime we'll continue to do just that as usual. Every blessing, Sarah.

Please pray for:

Children in special need of prayer:

Beau and Flynn, Elizabeth, Harvey-Jack Brown, Joey, Megan, Oliver Bennett, William Brown

For all children facing change, perhaps for the first time in their lives. For Harvey-Jack and William Brown on the day of their baptism

Please pray for the sick and those in need of comfort:

Alan Kirk, Beryl Tacey, Blaise, Bob Jarrett, Brenda Hobbs, Brian Branch, David Baker, David Coleman, David Fennell, David Reeve, Gill Powell, Gordon Kemp, Honor McKichan, Ian Wren, Jazz, Jim Rumins, Joanne Pawlett, John Ramsbotham, Lancy Boniface, Linda Hirons, Pat Milner, Pat Streeton, Paul Branch, Peter Andrews, Peter Andrews, Ron Hickey, Trines Ward

For all who are sick or afraid & for those who care for them & worry about them. For those facing their own deaths or those of people they love. That all will realise the passionate love of God for them.

Please give thanks for the lives of those who have died recently & for all who mourn their passing:

Thank ourGod that the good news of the gospel brings real hope for all of us beyond death & the promise of a new order in earth & heaven.

Give thanks for the lives and legacies of those in the year's mind:

James McArthur, Ted Mc Arthur, Albert Brightman, Kenneth Langmead, Eileen Childs, Walter Childs, Grace Hall, Terry McCarthy

For all those who mourn and whose grief, old or new, God sees & brings His peace. In the power of the spirit we give thanks for those who we have loved who now know Jesus face to face.

Please pray for our clergy and lay ministers:

For all who are called to try to convey the love of Christ to the world, flawed and imperfect as they always are. For our Bishops, Donald and John ; for team clergy Michael, Nigel, Dawn and Sarah. For Rev Mary and Bob Garbutt preparing to be licenced on October 11th to Staverton Hellidon and Catesby

For those in our community:

For all who so desperately need to know God's grace and who do not realise it. For those facing change that they may be confident of God's presence with them.

For the work of our churches:

That we may be renewed in the power and conviction of the Holy Spirit and ongoing so that we may see a great move towards God through his partner, the church. For congregations facing a time of change that they may know God's presence with them.
