Reader Marian Thomas I trained to be a Licensed Lay Minister (sometimes called a Reader) because I believed thatGod wants me to work with people on the waterways as well as in a Parish setting. The training took 3 years and I have now been attached to the Daventry team for 5 years but have worked mainly in Braunston and Ashby. I became a Christian when I was 14 years old and have done many things around the churches since then. I trained as a Physiotherapist and went to do VSO in Ethiopia in my 20's and on my return worked in Northampton until my children were born. I worshiped in Weston Favell Parish church and for some time directed one of the church choirs there. When my children were older I returned to Physiotherapy and came to specialise in rehab work of all kinds. All my life I have been keen on music and done a lot of singing in various choirs, as one of my ways of expressing my faith. |
